Growing up, I’ve been an early bird. I feel more prepared to face the day, and therefore more productive. The peacefulness I experience in the morning is thrilling to me, inhaling the fresh morning air, knowing that you can start anew … I even like to take early morning drives on the road, seeing that you basically have the road to yourself (as opposed to rush-hour traffic).
When I wake up in the mornings, I catch up on current events, exercise (especially yoga!), read and write. Though I love doing these things, knowing that I can take my time in early morning enhances my love for these activities. Even though today is Sunday, I still love to wake up early. This morning, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and did some really intense yoga. No lie – sweat was dripping off me!
Then I watched “The Wiz,” a movie musical with Diana Ross and Michael Jackson (both of whom I admire and I love MJ – RIP). I can’t get those songs out of my head now (“Ease on down, ease on down the road/Don’t ya carry nothing that might be a load/Come on now, ease on down, ease on down the road”). My daughter came into the living room as I watched the end of the movie. I watched the bonus features with her on DVD. Later this morning, when I got online to check my e-mail, my daughter asked me if I was going to check out more information about “The Wiz.” I said yes (which I what I did before checking my inbox). She said, “I love ‘The Wiz’.” I told her she hasn’t really seen the movie. She said, “But I still recommend it.” LOL
