I broke up with my manuscript, “Daughters of Janus,” last week.
After six years of working on this project on and off, I found that my heart wasn’t as into this manuscript as I thought. The thing is, I have all the pieces of the puzzle – characters, dialogue, plot – but I feel as though they don’t go together to make a clear picture.
I know I had my heart set on getting this manuscript published, but right now, I don’t think I could go through with this. Many times, working on this project feels like sloshing through a swamp.
So for now, I’m going to put “Daughters of Janus” aside and work on another book project. To sum it up, it’s a modern-day fairy tale.
