NaNoWriMo: Day three

It’s day three of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I kicked off my writing sprint on Nov. 1 without a hitch. Unless you count a lack of sleep “a hitch” LOL. To reach 50,000 words in 30 days, 1,667 words must be written per day.

I’m happy, proud and exhausted to say that as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, I’ve written 9,539 words. That means I’m covered until at least this Friday. By this Sunday, Nov. 7, I’m supposed to have written at least 11,669 words.

The working title of my novel is Olive Branch. The following paragraph is a synopsis I posted on my NaNoWriMo profile:

“Charlie Godfrey moves from the City to the quiet community of Olive Branch, nestled in the mountains of North Jersey. He attempts to get friendly with the locals, but for some reason, they’re quite hostile with him. Is it because there’s something in the water? No, just a haunted road that stretches for 10 miles through town.”

Update: As of 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 3, I’ve written 10,054 words.
