R.I.P. Daddy

It slipped my mind that yesterday, Nov. 20, was the sixth anniversary of the death of my father, Roy G. Edmond. Funny thing, just tonight, my domestic partner asked what today’s date is. My daughter answered, “The 21st.” That was when the death anniversary clicked in my head.

Below is my father’s full obituary, published on the Gentile Funeral Home (of Hackensack, NJ) website:

Dad was a huge Nat King Cole fan. Since the holiday season is here, I know that Nat King Cole’s version of “The Christmas Song” is getting major airtime on the radio (check out 106.7 Lite FM New York; that station is playing holiday music 24/7, in case you didn’t know that already). Every time I hear Cole’s “Christmas Song” play, it definitely reminds me of my father. I know I’ll hear it sooner than later somewhere, whether on my car radio, or in some shopping center.

I love you, Daddy. Rest in Peace.
